Hi Dirk, if it would help I would happily get it and post it on to you via DHL or some such carrier. Phil
Hi @Philayl
Pete just dropped a message, that he is busy till next week. Could you be so kind to buy this KVM? That would be great. Please send @Levinxf a PM for further details.
Thank you, Phil!

Dirk

Great news! Hopefully Levin will have his car working properly again soon..

Well done Phil on offering to help, top work!

Hi @Philayl ,
The uk seller finally fixed the issue with post to Germany. Levin could buy it including shipment and customs.

Hi Dirk, have PM'd Levin with congratulations and hope he is up and running soon. Phil

To be honest, I really appreciate your support! 👏🏆
I'm looking forward to the next step. It would be interesting to see if the used KVM would work. But hey, it's MoJo's spare time. So it is up to him, to choose between the used KVM or wait for the new. If the used one won't work, we have our fallback solution with the new KVM from the UK.
And I hope we won't find the next nightmare after the KVM works again....

Dirk

I think you'll find that that's the belief in/at Jaguar dealers, and possibly many independents, because that's what Jaguar tells them Gav.

I work with a chap who has a brother who is a JLR 'tech specialist' for a large dealership who is able to deal directly with JLR guru's and he has a very different view point to that of 'normal' dealer trained technicians..

He thinks more like MoJo, Onotole and Micheal..

After a certain year I though the KVM was only 1 time programmable?
That's only the case with the new KVM style and new key style i.e rectangular keys from around 2018+. But even then, you can "re-work" the KVM by opening it up and changing the MCU. It's a lot of work so replacing the KVM is generally easier but it's useful for situations like now whereby KVM are constantly on back order at the dealers.

Short update.
After 3 MoJo internet sessions, the BCM is on its way to MoJo. No chance to get it done over the internet. Hopefully MoJo can fix the BCM. When the fixed BCM is back with Levin, the brand new KVM is hopefully there, too. And hopefully MoJo is able to get the cat purring again :)
Thank's MoJo, for your enormous support and the time you already spent on this cat!! (y)(y)

Major Update :)

Finally MoJo brought the Cat back to life!! :) BIG THANKS to MoJo!! 🏆🏆🏆🏆 He really had great patience with Levin and me. It was not easy due to failed equipment, missing power supply, bad internet connection, some trouble with the german customs....but after 11 weeks the Cat is purring again since October 11th. 🤩

A failed KVM had been changed. Failed BCM had been fixed by MoJo in the UK and implemented again with his online support.
A bad control module (might be the RSJB. will receive detailed infos soon) needs to be changed soon. And some other bad stuff like the tank flap motor.

Thanks again!! It is always a pleasure to work with the support of this forum. (y)

Fantastic news chaps, well done all especially MoJo!! 👏

Well done MoJo!!

I'll bet that gave a nice sense of satisfaction once you got there!

Jep. Levin had some trouble with the german customs. But finally solved it paying some fee. It's a mess for individuals since the Brexit. But anyhow...it was long trip at all with some hurdles and a again with the great job by MoJo. Solved the Alzheimer of the BCM :) and resuscitate the whole Cat (y)
Well done Dr MoJo 😁

Hi, first post here, got to the thread via Google search. I have the same issue with my 2014, key not found after the start battery has been disconnected. I needed to charge the battery due to an alternator failure, to get to the local garage for a replacement alternator.

The Jag dealers near me are all saying they’re booked up for months before they can even look at it. The car is obviously dead currently. I can’t believe that simply disconnecting the battery can kill the whole car. It seems not fit for purpose.

Any advice?

Give me a shout if urgency is an issue :)
