MongoosePro JLR and SDD Connect Mains Power Supply

Hello everybody,

while solving other issues with SDD, I got this message with the main power supply. Does this mean to connect a battery charger to the main battery? Or do I have to have an adapter for the MongoosePro to apply a power supply there?
I can't quit this dialog and go on. Even if have the engine running, I could't go on. Is this just because SDD monitores the voltage and has a minimum voltage without enginge running?

Have a nice Sunday.

You are right again :). It took me a while to buy a real fast USB flash drive Corsair CMFVYGTX3C-128GB, install and setup a windows 10 home on it, install SDD.....and try it again with the mains connected to the laptop. Problem solved :) BUT (there is always a "but(t)" :) )
now SDD throws a warning that I should connect a charger to the batteries of my Cat, because SDD measures only 11.5 V. What? Hamed knows, I just installed two new batteries. That's the thing that started my misery with Mongoose, JLR, SDD, central locking malfunction.... :) ... and now...low again?. Nice try my Cat :) I will check the batteries and the charging current during the next week :)
That's bad luck. Due to Corona I had to cancel a nice 1.200 km trip to the Baltic Sea during my Easter holidays. This would have been a nice charging trip for the batteries :).

Thank you for the tip with the laptop mains and see you soon in another thread.

Your car battery is not enough to use with SDD.
You will also need an external power supply capable of 30A connected to the car

So:
Laptop with power supply

Car with good battery

External 12v DC 30A power supply connected across the + and - terminals under the bonnet. - you must set the power supply to give at least 12.8v when connected to the car with the ignition at position 2. Which means psu set to around 13.8v on no load.

You must keep the power supply connected while you use SDD or you risk the car bricking the module you are programming.

Thank you for the tips :)
I will keep that in mind for the next SDD session.
Today in the very nice afternoon sun at 23°C I checked my batteries and charging current with iCarSoft and real measurement equipment. Everything is fine. During cranking it drops down to 10.5 V. Measured with both tools. So my multimeter and the OBD measures the same value. 10.5 V is a normal value for a good battery. Charging current 22A immediately after cranking with the engine running idle. BMS is working. Everything is fine :) Nothing to worry about :)
The cat is really hungry....15 A current consumption while the system is on, ignition pos 2, heater and stereo on :). Nice.
I measured only 200mA aux battery consumption. Will this battery only be used if the voltage of the big battery drops down too much?

Hello I am new here and this is my first post

I have a similar problem so here is the story

Hellooo

It's jaguar XF 2013 portfolio

The problem is that there is plenty of warnings on the dash regarding DSC parking brake EBP battery not charging and sometimes the car doesn't want to start ....so from what I read it can be BCM that I already checked and there is no water damage or corrosion on both central and rear junction boxes....washer system work ...car lock and unlock ...key less working ....all fuses been checked and ground cables rechecked and the cable on right side under washer tank as well checked .....parking brake doesn't work as well with all the warning ......on the diagnostic plenty of issues most of them regarding list communication with different modules .....and on this time car doesn't want to start .. after removing battery and charged in in full ...after clear all fault codes with launch diagnistic ...car start and the only one fault is regarding transmision box module and fault cide for oarking brake ....on this time car start and drive but dash still warning fir press brake pedal ir simmilar ....after leaving the car fir a day it starts agaib with lost communication with modules and cant start and need disconnecting battery again ......battery is new ...next days will replace alternator as well .... charging is 15.8 on cold and 14.8 on warm .....

I have SSD (but never used it ) and 100a 12v psu power supply

I will be very happy if someone gives me a idea how to sort it out
