Hi there a simple way of seeing if the fuel pump is working ? Back seat is off , should I hear a sound when turning the ignition on? Also is it an easy job to a check fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge ?

2012 xfs diesel

edit: just seen that the one under the seat is just an electric fuel pump and there is another high powered pump somewhere else if I’ve read correctly

thanks

A diagnostic tool should pick up codes which must be there. A new fuel filter may be a good idea.
If you decide to change the fuel filter look it up on here as there are some pitfalls.

I would humbly suggest that this needs the attention of a good Jag tech. I don't think correspondence on a forum is going to fix this. But pleased to be wrong.

As Gav say's above you really need a proper diagnostic done, as you may cause more damage trying to find it.
At the moment you have no idea of what is causing the problem, it could be many things, and easily made worse.

Hi, if you fill in your location someone might be able to suggest a good Jag Independent near you, we don't need your exact address just the general location, for instance I could tell you of one in Liverpool but that's no use if you are in Southampton. Phil
