Obviously no one knows where the physical earth location is. Another question, where is the module that drives the indicators located?

 

I have the same problem. I think that we need to change the whole rear ligt.

 

Can you swap lights temporary to see if it's the actual light or wiring?

 

I have bought a second hand unit from a scrap yard (Silverlake)and it has fixed it😁 No reply from JLR whom I also contacted😞

 

I now have the same issue with my rear offside indicator. When it is supposed to be flashing, you can see a slight flicker from the LEDs. £330 (supply only) for a new one :-(

 

Managed to find a brand new one for a hundred quid including delivery. Sadly, it was very slightly damaged in transit, but still fully functional.
Hard to comprehend dismantlers wanting between £250 and £295 for a second hand one with a 1 month warranty.
Also found that while waiting to get a replacement, the battery went flat. After re-charging, the rear n/s door locking would not work and both rear windows would not operate. 30 second disconnect of the battery seems to have fixed both of those.
Seems all back to fully working and "still" grin inducing driving.

 

Seems to be a common problem, i've got the same thing. Rear offside indicator has a faint flicker. No option but to change the whole unit. @davetech where did you source your one from?

I got mine off ebay - the chap who sent it said it was the only one he had, otherwise he would have sent another when it arrived slightly damaged.
I cut open my old one (fun job with an oscillating multitool) to see if there was anything inside to fiddle with.
Nothing that I could see to even check for a dry joint. Squeezed and pushed everything I could, plugged it back in - no change.

 

I did cut it open and resorlderes joint as much as could and used contact cleaner on everything. It did work initially. It came back after few days but then worked without me touching it and issue never Came back. I guess it is dependent on moisture. So I will see if it happens again fall/winter. Because of that, if I want to repair it again, I use contact cleaner through a hole. Then just pour some distilled water in and shake it properly and let it dry before install it back. Alternatively you can use a 10ohm 10watts resistor in series with signal wire. The light won’t be as bright though but nothing very bad neither.
