Hi all

purchased an SDD system today V131 to help with sorting my car out..
runs on an XP laptop with Mongoose cable.
Problem is, ‘VIN Reading’ doesn’t work and manually entered VIN comes up as invalid?!!?
In addition to this, sometimes it’ll come up stating “an unknown arrow has accrued, logging fault”

if anyone has an ideal, or faced this before, I would appreciate a little help please

Told me it’s already been activated by a one time login, and I need to keep the system offline [emoji848]
The genuine latest SDD could be download free from official JLR server, but nobody gives you crack or login & pass free of charge.

Also please don’t use chip Mongoose cables, unless you doesn’t want kill some module :)

This is must be seller problem, return them Mongoose and ask for money return. Better order genuine JLR2534 and download the latest SDD. For future, you also need to order battery charger at least 25A and connect it each time during diagnose vehicle via SDD.

Phil - that is the current draw when all the car's electronics are "on".

The danger of a battery going flat whilst SDD is being used is that you could "brick" the whole car, hence the requirement for a power supply that can adequately keep the electronics fed.

I don’t have a problem buy whatever size voltage maintainer I need.
My problem is getting the system to actually work. On or off the vehicle, it won’t accept whatever jaguar Vin I enter...!
Also discovered, every time I go into settings \ Sytem information..... I keep getting an unknown error.....
Somebody must have come across this before....???

Even for change CCF, you need ignition switch on during some procedures, so if your vehicle battery became less than 12.5V SDD doesn’t give you possibility even enters to CCF file, if you will try to update software in modules and during update procedure the battery drop voltage, you’ll lost module :)

If your system was totally work, in this case you have the possibility to enter via VIN Auto scam or via manual VIN number entering.

In you case the problem with SDD or with Mongoose driver.

Is SDD useful in any way without a cable? I'm interested in whether you can use the Symptom Driven Diagnostics part by just answering questions, or if it has to be able to talk to the car to work? Similarly, can you view any documentation such as the workshop manual without being connected to a car?

Lastly, are there any known "safe" Mongoose cables apart from the genuine £400 jobs?

Thanks,
Tim

I'd recommend an autel md802. It'll read nearly every module on the car in great detail but doesn't have any capability to write or change any settings so its much safer for the diy'er. Obviously for those wanting to change the odd setting it's no good but it's certainly great for diagnostic purposes. Much more in depth than an obd2 s

I did recently buy an iCarSoft LR v2.0 which seems to read most things and can do a few service reset functions, etc. Though I have some odd codes showing up such as "Configuration not valid" which I think I'd rather not know about! I was really wondering if there was anything to help narrow the fault codes down to specific problems especially as a simple PDF workshop manual doesn't seem to exist for the face-lift. 😞

Cheers,
Tim

I've got a GAP Diagnostics IID Bluetooth Tool.

I bought it for my Range Rover, however, when buying my XF I contacted Patrick who runs GAP Diagnostics who advised that it will work on my XF without any issues.

I can read/clear faults in all modules, and I can alter the CCF file, both of which I've done. At present the tool doesn't support ECU updates on the Jag which is why they don't officially advertise it as being Jag compatible. On the Range Rover it does diagnostics, CCF editing and ECU updates. Apparently this should be available on the Jag's soon.
