It seems to be a problem with the laptop. On my desktop I'm able to install it. Only difference is that my desktop is WIN 10 PRO and the laptop WIN 10 home. I will make a clean install of Win10pro on the laptop and try again.
The error was 'unrepairable error' immediately at the start of the install after agreeing all the questions in the beginning.

Did a clean install of Win 10 pro on the laptop. Sdd is installed now so the problem was indeed in the laptop.
But now I get an error when starting the program. Something about not able to double register some components.

No that's probably the reason. I will install visual studio and try again. Thanks

In most of my cases I had to reinstall sdd afterwards to get rid of the faults.

Which version of visual studio redistributables do I need? I did try the latest and a few others but no succes. still get a self registration errror on install.
