Hi! I recently bought an XJ8 and while driving, my car goes into gear box default and then limp mode. Can anyone help with this? Any advice is appreciated.. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum, you really need to get any fault codes read or it will just be guess work, it appears that you probably have a fault on the gearbox but only by reading the codes will you know for sure. Phil

Code is po782. Then p1111 then p1000 which came up twice after clearing, any idea???

As noted above, your car has a fault.
I did a quick Google search on these codes.

P1111 and P1000 just show that the system has been scanned as per link

P0782 shows a fault with 2nd/3rd change and some useful ideas in this link.

Hi, it's possible that the gearbox has never had a service, it's entirely possible that a good service might cure your problem. Phil
