2014…….23k miles……Timing belt and watter pump done 11/2022………back seat never been used.

So why am I thinking of selling the car I always dreamt of owning…? ULEZ. If I ever wish to drive in the inner sancti of my home toon, Glesga, both my wife’s car and mine get us a wee £60.00 fine after June. I have been offered a Lexus UX Hybrid of a ridiculously high spec., and 4WD to boot.

I am truly in a dilemmafication, but put this on here for two reasons. If anyone has any interest in the car, should I sell it, please register your interest by pm. Haven’t even checked its value….!

Secondly…….Cutlea…..John OBC……Stats…..Gav……Jamesy……Stevie7 even……Phil……Ennybugger….
PLEASE HELP ME TALK ME OUT OF THIS…..LOL….!

In reality though, with air quality diminishing are not LEZ going to be constantly spreading making travelling with a non-compliant car more and more difficult?
Is air quality diminishing?
The LEZ zone starts where that double decker bus is, yet the motorway and the other onramp directly above are not part of the LEZ, despite being in the LEZ and that motorway continues straight up and through the LEZ. So it seems that air quality isn't a priority! lol

The city centre is half deserted, even at rush hour there's not really all that many cars. There's not much to come in for anymore and grossly overpriced parking has contributed towards that as well. The LEZ really wasn't necessary, so I suspect it's either virtue signalling or simply just a money maker (considering the exponential escalation of the subsequent entry fines). Could also be part of a long-term plan for those 15-min city things.

What have you decided Kev mins?
73.4% SURE THE JAG IS A KEEPER. After only four years and 17k miles in my charge I feel it is still too soon to get rid of what has been the best car of my life. Also been the luckiest…..only breakdown was the time the bliddy battery terminals came loose, and all went deceased obviously. With the wealth of experience and knowledge on here I feel very relaxed about the car aging gracefully.
Final decision will be made by this Sunday, but to date I am extremely grateful for ALL input…..been very helpful guys….THANKS.

Air quality, one example of reducing motoway speed due to 'air quality' is the M1 past Sheffield.

Yup. The elevated section of the M5 between junctions 1 & 2 is now 60mph for "air quality.

Lol that's Google Street view! Aye, that junction is bad at rush hour but the traffic is all going into the M8 East or West and not into the city.

EVs should be exempt... :D

One would think they are . . . . along with every other vehicle judging by how much the speed restriction is observed. :D

can EV's do more than 60mph?

Oh yes (apparently), but with severely elevated driver range anxiety. Anxiety levels increase logarithmically and inversely proportional to linear speed increases. Probably.

Good grief!!
For a bit of light entertainment, have a look on Youtube, Nico Rosberg has bought one, and on a test drive, even he is struggling to control it.

It's Sunday Kev.

Hopefully you've added the final 26.6% and decided to keep the XJ.

It does have 1000bhp more than he's used to & a lot less aero.

The acceleration is actually quicker than his Sunday drive - a mere 2.6s!

The Nevera & Plaid would obliterate an F1 car over the 1/4 mile.
