Glad you still like your car Riggs, and I can't believe it has been year already - seems like yesterday that you got her.

A few things have changed since then.

All too true Wilf. This last year has certainly flown by.

Although I realise it has dragged for others.

Gave V3 its first wash in quite a few months today.

Its clean, but the paint felt gritty as I was towelling it dry.

Should be clayed and waxed, but its going for its detail and Exo ceramic coating in a few weeks. No point having two clay sessions within weeks.

Still loving the colour of this car in the sun. Goldy silver or silverly gold?

Allan, what do with your car when you're away? Do you garage it with a battery maintainer ?

I give it to my ex g/f

Only kidding. It's on the driveway - with cameras overlooking it. Garage could take the car when I first moved here, but the biomass boiler put and end to that.

If I'm away for a long trip - the C-Tek gets put on it.

I've also got very good neighbours who look after my place while I am away. Also still on very good terms with the Ex g/f, so she looks in on the house and car too.

Its also relay signal theft proof. She has one key, well over a mile away - and I take the other with me.

Jeez, I'm not sure I'd trust myself loosing it, especially offshore, why not just remove the battery?

No - they don't. Not much anyway. A light coating of surface rust - and thats about it. Don't know if the Bilt-Hamber Autowheels, Autofoam and car shampoo are helping - and Bilt hamber used to be corrosion specialists for subsea equipment before getting into car care products.

Goes into my backpack with my tablet and laptop and other electrics that I take offshore. If I lose all of them - I've got bigger things to worry about ;)

They still do great automotive rust protection products.
Jonny Smith is about to use them on his V6 Austin Allegro project.

Lol, I know. Apparently he’s had it in storage for years waiting on this.

Will be an Allegro in appearance only when he’s done.

Thanks Dave.

I'm really hoping that the colour really sparkles once the ceramic coating goes on. Though it will be a two stage job - as the bonnet requires a respray. My choice, as there is a defect in the paint near the lip of the bonnet - and I'd rather it was done properly.

Both paintshop and detailer are aware of each other, and how the car is to be prepped.

So majority of the car will be detailed this time home - and then the bonnet will be treated next time home, circa June/July.

This will give the paint time to 'gas off' before the detailer does the final stage.

A decent ceramic coating will bring that colour alive, Ames a huge difference 😁
