Hi everyone.

I have just just purchased a 2012 Jaguar XF 3.0 Diesel Auto
The previous owner has fitted some grill and boot lid badges for the 'R-Sport' which admittedly look quite good on the car, but I am sure than any Jag or car person will know immediately that it is not an R sport model
I was thinking of changing existing tail pipes and rear valance / diffuser on the car to Jaguar XRFS Style Diffuser / Valance with Quad Tips (see attached example pics) to make it look more like an actual Rsport
Does anyone know if this is an easy exchange, and where I can purchase the parts from on the cheap?? Are there universal quad tips that can be used or must they be from a Jaguar XF Rsport. Can the end pieces / tails be swapped easily and just at the ends?, and would a local garage be able to do the exchange or would it need a jaguar dealer / specialist?
Any knowledgeable feedback would be very much appreciated

Regards
John

Hi John. Welcome to the forum.
I think you might be getting your R-Sport and R-S mixed up. R-S is not R-Sport.
The XF-RS is the 5-litre supercharged beast.
R-Sport is merely a name given to a trim level, much like the Audi S-Line.

Thank you for prompt reply John. It just shows you what little I know 🥴
Do you think the exterior changes to the exhaust and rear diffuser will make it appear like an RS or can you still get the quad tips on a standard XF Sport. Are these always an aftermarket addition do you know
Do you happen to know also if the lower grills on the front bumper can be changed independently or does it require a whole new front bumper to get the R-S Grills on the front. Are these interchangeable between the R-S and my standard XF ?

Thanks for all your advice
John

R-Sport and R-S weren’t even a model of XF in 2012.

The R-S came out in early 2013 and the R-Sport in September 2013.

The 3.0 240 diesel was available in R-Sport trim. I had a Sportbrake version before I went the whole hog and bought the R-S.

A forum member, some time back now, transformed his diesel XF-S (275 PS) to look exactly like an R-S. So yes, everything is do-able. In fact a "quads" thread has just been started and I can tell you that most of what you'll see are after-market retrofitted . . mine included.

The bumper would be an easy swap, and fitting quads is quite simple, many owners have added the diffuser and quads to models that didn't originally come with them.

As for getting the parts cheap I am unsure as I got my diffuser from a member here, after making a passing comment about wanting one. You'll be able to fit the diffuser to your own bumper

Doesn’t take much to get the rear to look the same. I know these are Sportbrakes but it’s the same principle.

I know. I thought it looked odd the other way when comparing and couldn’t find a photo at the right angle.

Thanks again Chris.
Your Blue Sportbrake looks gorgeous . I thought the red looked great but the blue is something else.
I dont think I have ever seen a Jag in that colour before.

I am thinking of going ahead with the rear valance and quads to look similar to yours. Is there anyone out there who can recommend a decent mechanic / body shop who could do the exchange properly, within driving distance of Ayrshire in Scotland??
Every advert I have looked at seems to be from English suppliers

Thanks to all so far

Doing a similar job, changing a RSport to have the rear diff.. The issue I have is getting the matching tip for the rear left, this is the standard, does anyone know if the same tip exists for the left side ?

You could just buy a secondhand rear box off ebay. You don’t necessarily need to connect it.

I found a cheap damaged rear box on Ebay just for the rear pipes. Negotiated with the vendor and he cut me just the bits I needed off it.

You’re lucky in that a suitable box exists.

Got the box of my last conversion, just need the right exhaust tip to match but haven't been able to find it.
