I don't have to use a battery tender on my X260 ..... HUGE battery since they did away with the secondary start/stop battery along with an oversized alternator output and start/stop disconnected .... but if I were to.... 1. for the + lead use a metal screw to connect is to the hole in the top of the post and bend the connector down the side 2. for the - lead put it under the negative post (it looks like a stud sticking out of the shock tower to the left of the fuse box).

Just had another look under the bonnet and your suggestion is genius . Why didn’t I think of that? . I’d better get on and order myself an indicator lead!
