x260 assists activation

Made some program modifications to friend's X260 XF. Activated:
  • parking assistant
  • traffic sign recognition
  • intelligent cruise control and speed limiter (works with sign recognition)
  • intelligent emergency braking
  • lane keep assist
  • video in motion
  • i-dynamics menu
  • winter mode for wipers
  • driver drowsy monitoring
  • apple carplay and android auto
to activate most of this options you need stereo-camera at front of windscreen (IPMA-module) and SDD software. If any questions - PM) Multimedia Vehicle Car Technology Luxury vehicle

Excellent job, good to see an X260 getting a bit of SDD love.

Did you have a look to see if you could enable High Beam Assist since it has the cameras? Or is that already active?

  1. I have lane departure etc I think have the stereo camera also. Don't have parking assistant .Are you saying this can be activated using the SDD ?

It is quite expensive Conor, but it's also knowing what to buy so you get reliable kit, that's the biggy.
You also need some sort of a hefty power supply to keep the car powered while the updates happen.

these are stereo camera options:
  • traffic sign recognition
  • intelligent cruise control and speed limiter (works with sign recognition)
  • intelligent emergency braking (pedestrians recognition)
  • lane keep assist
  • high beam assist
if you have one of them, i can activate others. this car had only high beam assist.

parking assist don't need camera. i can activate it in each car that has front and rear parking sensors.

Interesting.
I have the Forward Facing Camera which gives my XF :
Lane keep assist (Lane Departure Warning System)
Traffic sign recognition (TSR/Adaptive Speed Limiter)
Intelligent emergency braking (Autonomous Emergency Braking)

I'd like High Beam Assist (HBA) and the trailer hitch (Towing Equipment) activated.

How would we go about doing that?

I know KJ ( @ kjsingh ) has the cable and laptop setup for this. I've a PM from him on it, I'll look that out, but let's see what Onotole thinks as well.

I wonder if my 2015 XJ with High Beam Assist could have those other functions activated?
I think we should pool together and fly Onotole over for a week . . . after lockdown of course!

I'd concur with flying him over 😂

I got the SDD virtual thing from British Diagnostics, only to fix the front sensor, but the TV will need coding...

No idea, not something I looked at, as I wasn't interested in at point of purchase...

To be honest, coding is never something i looked at because my previous marques had exceptionally knowledgeable people relatively local. Would rather pay a relatively nominal fee and have it done by someone with extensive experience.

Changing coding can go horribly wrong, it is all about knowing best ways to avoid and how, if the worst does happen, how to recover...

Yeah - I'm up for that. Think I've got a tenner lying about. ;)

Think Steve's family might want a raise on twenty quid for their father and husband though.
