Our I-PACE is now 2 years old (well it will be in a few weeks). We have it on a 3 year lease so that means it's only a year before it goes back. Due to the current lead times for ordering some new vehicles (in excess of 12 months in some cases) we are starting to think about the I-PACE's replacement. Requirements:

  1. £800 plus VAT budget
  2. 3 year/15k per year business lease
  3. No Teslas (don't like them, their business practices, etc.)
  4. No Hyundai/Kia (current models are ugly IMO, interior quality is lacking) and big
  5. No big SUV (yes, I know the I-PACE is technically and SUV)
I've specifically called out the Hyundais/Kias as people bang on about the EV6 and Ioniq 5, but personally I find them hideous and huge. According to an EV group I'm on, apparently I'm a badge snob as I'm not considering them or the MG5.
🤣

So what's out there that I haven't thought of? The Taycan/eTron GT were on my radar, but with recent price rises, even the base models are a little pricey now. We are going to have a look at the BMW i4 but with a front end only a mother could love, I'm not sure that's a winner. With no changes to the I-PACE coming - and MY23 cars being more expensive with less spec than our MY21 we won't be getting a new one, it'll be 2025 before we see the all-new I-PACE. That said, if we can't find a suitable replacement, I may look to extend the lease for our current I-PACE for another year as hopefully 2025, Jaguar will let us all know what's going on with their next model (won't hold my breath).

Others cars I've seen mentioned:

Fisker Ocean - Looks kinda big - unknown brand in the UK really - What will aftersales be Like
Genesis GV60 - Same as the Fisker - unknown aftersales
Mercedes EQE (Non-SUV) - could be pricey like the Etron/Taycan
Lotus Eletre - Same as the Merc above
Polestar 2 - We very nearly ordered one before the I-PACE. I like them, but not we have already chosen the I-PACE over it so it would feel like a backwards step.
Polestar 3 - Another SUV
Audi A6 e-Tron Avant - a style I would love, but again, prices will be high.

So far, the winning idea is extend the lease on our current car.

As above, but my second choice would be the Polestar followed by the Fisker. I'd need a bit more time for Fisker to prove themselves though.

The only other one I'd look out for is the ID7. There's a couple of teaser images out so difficult to tell if you'd like it or not. It may end up like an electric Passat though after a few years of use and I'm not a massive fan of the latest infotainment.

Saw that yesterday. Kinda like it, but I'll wait for the Skoda version as apparently they don't have the awful haptic feedback "buttons" like the VWs.

If you are able to extend the lease on the iPace and like it, why change? As you say, that will take you into 2025 and hopefully some new Jaguar "i" models.

I'm not holding my breath on the new Jaguar EVs. The previous CEO said they were moing upmarket and aiming for the likes of Aston Martin and Bentley. If the new CEO carries on that decision, they'll price out most of the current customer base.
The Genesis got a v good write up in Autocar. V good ride/handling and build quality according to them. And since it is basically a luxo Hyundai, service shouldn't be an issue?

I don't think it's serviced by local Hyundai dealers and the sales offices are all in the south. They apparently deliver everything to you and take your car away for servicing. It's just a bit of an unknown.
Kia EV6 GT or keep the iPace for another year.

The Audi E-Tron GT would be my choice if it fit your budget.

Can't stand the EV6. Ugly as hell.

Everywhere I've looked so far puts the e-Tron GT at ~£1200 for our term and mileage and that's with 6 months upfront.
Just seen that early photos of the BMW i5 Touring have been released. Here is the All-Electric BMW i5 Touring - Spy Photos
Get a Ora Funky Cat 😂
I liked the Polestar when I test drove it, not sure I could stomach handing over £50k ish to the Chinese though😂
I quite like the Mustang and new Nissan Ariya, I also like the Audi Q4 e-tron and Cupra Born.
The Hyundia/Kia seem to have the best range for the money, possibly excluding MG, but they are freeking hideous.

That will be a nice drive. I don’t mind the i4 in dark colours as it disguises the front grill, nothing hides that stupid polyurethane grill on the iX, thats also freeking hideous.

Macan EV? Similar body style to ipace, premium brand etc and should be fast. Not sure on prices though.

The BMW i4 M Sport is £58K so the entry point of the i5 Touring will be at least £80K which will make the rental price similar to the E-Tron.

All down hill since the Model S. The quality might be improving but the designs certainly aren’t.
