I've been trying to post on this thread for a while now.. but my typing is slow enough that by the time I've finished typing, the weather has changed and the post is 'out of date'... :D

That’s Cronwall for you.

Weather didn’t even get a chance to stop and say hello today, it blew past that quickly.

Garden is a swamp, so no Uncle Alan posts to report. Iit’s that bad, Uncle Gary might get a mention...

We've been weathered off the job for a few hours.

Was 3m to 4m with 27kts gusting to 30kts.

It's not 4-5.5m with 32-38kts wind.

Our operating limits for launching and recovering are generally 3 and 30.

Guess we won't be going anywhere soon!

This, while outside our operating limits, is nothing mate.

Worst I've been in was 15m and 70kts+.

No one allowed on the back deck during that errr 7 day squall - ok full on storm.

Newcy's ship would be able to ride out the larger waves with more aplomb I'm sure, being many metres longer (300?) and lots of mass.

Our wee ship isn't even 90m long, and only about 20m from Port to Starboard.

Saying that - its a lot bigger than the fishing boats that operate out of Peterhead and the likes.

5m for them will seem like a roller coaster I'm sure.
