Thinking about getting an F-Type.

I've never had a V8 or a convertible before & now might be the time to pull that pin. I prefer the looks of the Coupe but the lure of top down motoring draws me to the convertible. I'm not really bothered which engine it has, 450/500/550bhp are all 'adequate', but it must have awd. I've seen this one advertised locally that appears to tick all the boxes & I might take a look next week.

The criteria are;

V8
Convertible
2019 or later
Max £45,000
Not black & preferably not white
Under 40,000 miles
Preferably Approved Used with a 1 year warranty
Ivory or tan interior but black isn't a deal breaker

Not what you want to hear, I'm sure, you being the proud owner of an F-Type. But you could stick 1 second on that 0-60 time and I still rather be sitting in that than an F-Type. It's a GT not a sports car. And a beautiful GT at that. :love:

I'm only just coming to terms with spending a fair wedge on a used car rather than getting a new one with a 3 year warranty. I'd prefer to dip my toe in the used market rather than go full on baptism of fire with a Maserati.:D

I've noticed that VED is something to consider & there is a sweet spot between 2017 & 2019. Before 2017 it's levied on the old CO2 regime that means something like a Bentley Continental GT is going to cost £675 pa. Anything newer than 2019 will cop for the £390 luxury car tax on top of the standard £180 VED.

The blue M8 dropped £500 yesterday & could be worth a cheeky offer. It's also a late 2019 so just one year of £570 road tax.

Ahhh, refreshing to see another on here going for a 'manly' convertible!

Welcome to the club.....
Funny thing. I was thinking exactly the opposite. Worried old Stiggy would be preoccupied with the next cut and blow dry or blue rinse to be concentrating on driving. 😁
