Thinking about getting an F-Type.

I've never had a V8 or a convertible before & now might be the time to pull that pin. I prefer the looks of the Coupe but the lure of top down motoring draws me to the convertible. I'm not really bothered which engine it has, 450/500/550bhp are all 'adequate', but it must have awd. I've seen this one advertised locally that appears to tick all the boxes & I might take a look next week.

The criteria are;

V8
Convertible
2019 or later
Max £45,000
Not black & preferably not white
Under 40,000 miles
Preferably Approved Used with a 1 year warranty
Ivory or tan interior but black isn't a deal breaker

Sort of area that'd be drawn to an electric BYD car so guess Stratsone is simply being commercialistic.

Can't help but feel the 575 F-Type will be more desirable down the years compared to the 450 version.

Yes, you can/could tune the 450, but same could be said of the 575.

I've driven a V6 F-Type S and a V8 F-Type R, huge, huge difference. I own both engines, again, huge difference between them. Yes, you can tune the V6 etc, but it's not the V8 and never will be.

Yep, there seem to be some very noticeable weight and handling differences between the V6 and V8 cars. Even more so if you compare a RWD V6 to an AWD V8.

When it comes to sound - for some, including me, the screaming V6 has the far superior sound in the F-Type. Although I love V8s I never thought the V8 was a suitable engine for the F-Type which is why I never considered V8 cars when I was looking. Each to their own of course.

If there's a V8 itch to scratch there's only one way to go and the P450 does seem like a cracking option now.

The tune on the V6 S makes the engine sound what you'd expect a fast sports car to sound like. On the other hand, my XKR which I regard more of a GT than a Sports car, wouldn't sound right with a revvy V6. If you've the V8 itch, that cannot be satisfied by a V6 though.

Looks like RR's are becoming a hard sell at the moment with all the theft that's around!

There's also a Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge gap between WBAC and trade in prices v dealer asking prices at the moment, in some cases it's circa £15k!

I'm hopefully going to see this one on Thursday. The budget would have to be stretched a bit but it is an R rather than the P450.
