Hello I have a similar problem
So my camera stop working after pcm bcm and other modules update and as I am new with SDD ...decide that maybe the problem is in the front control display FCDIM so I decide to update it BUT after insert usb drive and messing around ....the unit stop working ( black screen and you can hear the unit like self rebooting constantly) ....I am using sdd161 with online access and engineering mode and trying again to update it ....in the step where need to insert usb to the car after successful transfer 4 files from PC ...it gets error that the usb port doesn't make a connection with the usb or similar and getting another error on the end shown on photo and can't to nothing ....is it worth to try with sdd 131 or there is any other solution.

Thanks

It's x250 2013 ...I am pretty new with SDD so will need a bit of help where to find this files on the sessions

Stranger is that when plug usb it doesn't say anything about the files if they are ok or not ...is straight a way say that usb can't be attached

I found this file names ....but what exactly need to do with this names ... I found in another forum needed files from both SDD 138 and 161 ...but still can't get it working once out the usb in the car

Ok here is all the sessions that I have ....on both of them I cant find 901 .....from 29/06 and 30/06 the files are exactly the same .....what happened exactly is ...on a first try to update the module when SDD asked to put usb on it to download the file ...I didn't put any usb ...just clicked next next ....even I didn't put any usb on the vehicle when on first ask ...so I assume that SDD just deleted all the files but didn't replace them with any other ones ...so now look like that the module is completely blank (maybe) ....on first try the programming of course finished with error and not completed ....

Win 11 .....I've done the same FAT32 ........can you check how many files you have on the usb drive once transferred from SDD ....my one transfer 4 but I think it needs 5 on total ....did you think that if I have your files from your fix .. and rename them on the way that SDD want(if they are different) ....it will start ?
Here are the files that I found in different forum from 138 and 160 SDD

Hi yes thanks for your help at all ...I managed to find the logs from the session where the first try fail .....also yes I will try to download and run 138 in VM ...hope that will sort it out ...does I need to change the software of the cable at all or is all the same 138/161 ....it's clone cable ...

About the battery not sure why it always says 36V when I measure it and is 13.5/6 with power supply 12v 87A .....
Basically I have another problem with the car that is related with maybe some.faulty module ...problem is shown in the video .... sometimes car doesn't start when the warnings are present and when the car start ....no any single faults...but while driving a bit and from nowhere same errors coming back and car diesnt start ...so if I leave it for a 1-2 hours and start again without any single faults

Pcm=powertrain control module ?
PCM=ECU ?

Pcm was fine ... basically after programming it was the point where the car start ....but now after fcdim fail ...pcm stay in red ( but the car start and the faults coming as well on some point ))) .....

For fcdim I will try to download 138 and give it a try

Finally everything done after 4 hours of programming
In short

Using new usb 32gb formatted with FAT32
Updating first ACM module
And after that FCDIM

Files download was different from last time so I guess they was the proper one this time

Camera is working as well

Just need to sort out now the steering column that doesn't want to move hahha ....but another day ...another adventure hahahha

Thanks on everyone helping me to sort it.out

So yeah ...I didn't change any SDD version or win ones so ...win 11 and sdd 164 ...
After updating the ACM module with the correct file ...after that it changed and the files for the FCDIM as well (different files from the last time that I tried ) ....in total was 7 files for the ACM and 3 for the FCDIM .....

Stranger was that it suggest me to run gen 2.1 touchscreen recovery but for some reason it didn't allow me to do that so I just go through the normal way

So after a while getting the problems with several warning on dash ...I am a bit closer to where the problem coming from ....I've detect that when the warnings come on dash ....car go to "emergency mode" (there is no power loss but engine fan turn on on max and steering wheel get a bit heavier and the gauge for revs doesn't react) ...so when I "hit" a bit the instrument cluster and the warnings gone and the car continues to drive fine without restart (fan turn off and rev gauge back to normal ) ....after removing cluster and checking all connectors and cables (there wasn't any sign or cable lose or corrosion...just spray them with contact cleaner and refit them to the connector)...car drive fine for 4-5 days but now it starts again ....from the video above you can see how the car back to normal when "hit" a but the cluster (in video warnings still there but fan and rev gauge bsck to normal that this mean that after restart will be ok ) ......

Is it something wrong with the cluster itself OR ....the problem is somewhere else

I was thinking the same for the dry joints and send it for repair ...but the guy say that looks ok ...but just incase resolder most of the joints ....will test it once get it back ...about the fault...when the car is ok ...there is 0 faults and once the cluster gets messed...most of the faults are for lost communication with different modules ....

But non of those are showing when the car is ok ...

Edit ....send a video to JLR.Tech and they assure me that it's nothing related with the cluster (but I doubt it as it fixed temporarily once touch around it ....and they want to go there and fix it form around ÂŁ500-ÂŁ1000) .....

All of them are in can HS ....I plug the multimeter in obd port on pin 6 and 14 and checked the can bus network when the car is sleeped ....the measurements was showing 60ohm that mean that the can bus network is fine ....(Was thinking to buy oscilloscope to double check it ) ....but when disconnect the cluster it show 120ohm that again is correct measure as on the ECU and the cluster got 120ohm transistors so when all it's ok should be 60 and if disconnected one of the modules with transistor (not sure if correctly named it) ...should be 120 ....so the network on first try is ok (no break cables or not short on positive or negative or enter them ) ....hope that once get back the cluster ...will be ok

This is not a direct solution for X250 problem but I am looking after one problem I have, and learned that X250 and L538 (Evoque MY12 - MY13) are sharing similar platform, thus these documents are relevant for my Evoque also.
In theory you can log all canbus traffic and in case of failure, you could find very first messages from where the problem starts - I am not expert in this field and it’s needed tools and knowledge with this, here might be other who knows this better.
Checking the wiring etc could be solution but time is needed for that, are all problematic control unit’s in same bus?
I mean, are they all in HS CAN bus or MS CAN bus?
