Hi, my very loved XJR 2014 has a problem, anyone have any experience with this warning message coming up? It has disengaged all Parking sensors & Rear camera inoperative too..

Took out both sides rear sensors to check for any large resistance variances, but both read the same amount within 100ohms. Can't find anywhere what the actual readings should be.

Help, this car is now a little bit more difficult to park now!!!

You'll need diagnostics to read the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes). I presume the sensors are ultrasonic, it's not a simple matter of checking their resistance to ensure they're functional. I use an iCarsoft LR V2.0, others are available.

I didn't even know my XJ had a "side detection system". I shall have a read.

It'll be for the blind spot monitoring I would imagine.
Yes, that makes sense.
Still don't have it.

Nope. I have to look over my shoulder.

Thought the Lazy Radar was standard on Portfoliolis. Yet you also didnae have footwell lights at rear of your seats. Starting to sound like a cloned cut and shut…..

Funny you should say that. It says Jacuar on the 'laminated tread plates.

No blind spot monitoring. What sort of shed did you buy 😱 .

Even my 12 year old bone shaker has BSM.

You're right... I don't think I could cope with an inferior mode of transport
I know. I have to drive this wearing sunglasses so no one will recognise me. The embarrassment!

You can just paint an orange dot on your mirror John.

That way it will remind you to check over your shoulder before manoeuvring the car across.

……then adhere the corner of a Post It page on it, to flap in the wind, making it look like it’s flashing…..sorteed.

If You are still talking about BSM, then on my XF I had connection problem what was caused by one corroded cable behind the rear bumper. It was opposite side compared to the DTC I had. The isolation on the corroded part of the cable was swollen.

thanks for the replies, i have a icarsoft diagnostic but it just tells me a fault on the system on the left side. My nephew is a mechanic and has his own £5k diagnostic kit, so hoping that will give me a more specific location for the fault. Otherwise it is booked in to the local independent Jag specialist on monday. But would prefer to save myself the labour costs.
