Car has been running spot on, yesterday whilst on dual carriageway I went to overtake and as I applied throttle RP appeared. When in S and using manual paddles gears changed spot on, car did get up to carriageway speed. Weird thing was no EML, no codes and no obvious symptoms. When switched off and left a few minutes RP dissapears and car drives as normal.

Will be plugging into OBD tomorrow and attempting to replicate what happened to see if anything is logged / recorded on live data. Anyone experienced anything similar with the 2.2d. Have ordered a service kit although not due and ordered a can of MAF spray.

Hi, I have no experience of the 2.2D but when mine showed the identical symptoms it turned out to be a faulty EGR valve. Phil

Fuel filter is also a possibility - I saw this with similar issues caused by an old filter that was "changed" when serviced but was filthy when cut open.
This may help...
