Right guys, wanting to fit an Electric rear sunblind to my Xf,I have checked and the connector is there for it,I know I would have to obtain and replace the front overhead console for one with the switch for the blind. Now goes the question, would it be possible to cut the existing shelf to accommodate the blind, had a look at the standard shelf and it looks like it shouldn't be too
hard,I know onotole has done this. The blind looks like the brackets are glued/bonded to the shelf but not sure.My current shelf has the Bowers and Wilkins speakers in,sourcing a suitable shelf would be like trying to find rocking horse poo from what I can see, there looks to be one available but it's from the states and not cheap by the time you have paid the postage and import duty. There are a few blinds on their own with the brackets on and the wire to connect,Don't know if this is doable or not.

Well finally after nearly two years of searching I’ve managed to acquire a parcel shelf with electric blind with bowers and Wilkins speakers, which is in mint condition for my XF,also managed to get the roof console with the correct buttons a few weeks ago,the console was a bit rough so I swapped the module out into my own unit, this is now fitted in the car, just the shelf to swap out,the wiring is already there so it’s plug and play, will update once this is fitted and working, woo hoo.

Got my shelf with blind fitted today but it’s not working,I suspect it’s the console with the button as it lights up blue when the lights are on but when you press it,it does not go the yellow colour that the parking sensors do when they are activated or you press it,I would imagine the sunblind button should do the same, wonder if anyone could tell me if the button changes colour when it’s pressed. The shelf I bought was tested by the seller before I bought it,so I suspect the console to be the culprit, checked all the wires and they are all good as far as I can tell, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well the blind is now working, turned out to be a fuse in the passenger footwell and a wire in the overhead console, just for reference the blind button does not light up other than when the lights are on the car, lights up blue the same as everything else.Looks great and very pleased it’s all working as it should, not bad for £120 including the over head console and an hour of my time to fit it.

No need, I found a video of a fuse popping.
