Hi at all,
I'm Tommy from Munich, Germany. We have a black F-Pace 3.0d MY2017.
All in all its a great car but i wanted to upgrade it a little bit.
There the car haven't had the smartphonepack installed I did some research to retrofit it.
Short story:
--> USB UIP with 2 USB ports changed to one with USB, SIM and HDMI
--> installed wirering
--> some CCF edting
--> now I have Android Auto :)

Up to here eveything is fine.
But I thought i can do a bit more things by SDD.
So I tried to configure LaneKeepAssist (as shown in the thread from GAV), but no i have a lot of problems with my car.

What i have:
  • SDD on Win7 32b virtual machine (cracked one)
  • JLR VCI from diagnostic-associates
  • 25A CTEK Powersupply
  • logged in to developer mode (not on all pictures)

Everything in SDD is working except updating the modules.
When i try to update the module (Parking assist control module and the IPMA) i get an error A02 - transmission timeout.
185544

185543

The real problem is, that my PDC and my 360°surround cameras dont work now.
I have these DTCs:
185545

Can anyone give me some hints, what i can try to solve the DTCs or what I can do against the transmisssion timeout error?
Is there a "Back to start" button, where i can reset all my modules?

What i have tried untill now:
  • I reversed my CCF editing (except the AndroidAuto) but SDD still wants to update the modules
  • I tried an old Win732b notebook with SDD, but its still the same error
  • I tried another VCI from diagnostic-associates (the J25334 DA-Dongle) --> same error

Your SDD doesn’t appear to be connected to the internet. You need this so SDD can download the latest module firmware.

Or

You need to find a way to download the modules via a USB stick and add them to SDD. There is a process for this, which I was prompted to do in the initial stages of using SDD but since I have allowed it to connect to the internet I haven’t had any issues.

The down side it that SDD will require itself to be updated and we don’t know whether future versions will work.

So far I’ve had no issues with v1.60

My Problem:

PDCs and Rear&front view cameras don't work.
And I have various DTCs.

but the error started when i tried to configure the existing modules (Parking assist control module and Image processing control module A).

The

I get an error for the PAM:

185661

185662

185663

The non responding TPM is caused because i drawn the fuse for TPMS. I read that TPM could cause some CAN BUS errors and i tried to solve it. But the TPM doesn't have a influence.

Instead of "configure existing modules" I startet "configure new modules". Does this makes any difference?

Hi Tom I think the configure new modules is when you replace a module with a virgin one.
But looking at your second screen shot, it seems ssd cannot speak to PAM or TPM and other have DTC’s
you need to solve this first they should all be green like in my write up on adding LKA
whats the history of this car, did you buy it like this or have you added modules?

It seems one module is disturbing can bus. Could be a loose earth connection.
Have you check the as_built data to see id those modules are retrofitted by a previous owner?

the TPM error is because I temporary pulled out the fuse :)
I have read a thead, that the TPm can cause the can bus. But unfortunately not :(

The only hardware mod is the UIP. I change the old UIP Low (with 2 USB Ports) to an UIP high (2 USB, HDMI and SIM).
But I don't know if the DTC have been there before.

How can i check the as_build_data?

Suppose I bring the car to my JLR dealer, can he see, that i have edited the CCF?
I got a 1 year waranty when i bought the used car, which includes electric modules.
If I can't solve the erros myself, i would give it a try to give it to my JLR Dealer.
I realy need my PDCs and camera working.

The real problem is, that my wife is pregnat and the birth is in the next few days. So I have other things to to manage than my fuc.... car erros :)
Cause we need the F-Pace as a famaily car, I hoped that I could solve the problems before birth.
Its a really bad timing.

You would be better finding a Jaguar specialist near you. Jag dealers will be able to see the CCF changes as they are recorded.

might be worth swapping the old UIP back in to see if things look better? Clear the DTC’s and rescan?

They can but it is also available in asbuilt data folder of SDD.
I was thinking maybe you programmed some modules which will be taken back to default and incompatible with the hardware on the car.

Is it only possible to see if any changes have been done or is it logged when the changes have been done, also?
Tommorow i reinstall the old module temporary to check if the DTCs are still the same.

I reinstalled the old UIP low. But the error are exactly the same. So i reinstalled the New UIP high again.
--> no efect on the pam error

Today i got some help from Onotole via Teamviewer.
He did some testing.
The result... I crashed the pam Modul :)
So for next step i will buy another PAM and try the Update again.
I expect that i have destroyed the pam while updating to LKA. Hopefully it will work the next time i try :)

Oh no, did he have an idea how this happened? Was this because you tried to program as new rather than program existing?

No, he didn't mentioned how this could happened.
He just said that the PAM isn't reachable. We tried to reprogram it by disconnecting battery and reflash the pam, but that didn't work.

I have ordered a used one and I will give my next try :)

I have another question. There I also used configure new module an the impa, i did a full flash of the module. The download was completed and then there was a request for a calibration drive for the auto high beam. There I don't realy recognized what to do, I haben done nothing for a few minutes just wait till time is up. So I think my calibration is no good anymore. Can I just start the calibration without downloading the 45 minutes again?

I believe you can re-calibrate it at any time.

When I tried enabling Auto Hi-Beam Assist, the car looked good, all lights worked, the dash menu was there, but AHBA never actually worked on the road.
My car went to the dealer for the forward facing cameras to be replaced and after it came back, AHBA enabled and worked without calibration.

Part of adding it, was an update of the IPMA module, which SDD told me was up to date.

Great news!
I got a new (used) PAM.
After installing the PAM the updates could be completed succesfully.
So my PDC and my 360°Camera are back to work.
So i configured the LKA in the CCF, but i didn't tested it yet. I will do tomorrow and give a report here.
If this is wokring i can start my other tasks in CCF :)

Excellent Tom, you can pseudo test LKA by going into the vehicle setting menu and looking for the LKA settings, if it’s ticked (enabled) then all good. When I first checked mine it wasn’t ticked, but when I tried to enable it, the tick would auto disable:(
Then I realised I need to update the firmware on the IPMA.
when you got your used Pam did you program it by choosing update module or did you choose new module?
are you any closer to working out why your original Pam got broken?

The Entbindung happened on April 1st.
My wife and our son are in best condition :)

I did a test drive (to the hospital). There are no errors. PDC and cameras work fine.
The vibration with Lanedepature warning works fine.
But the LKA doesn't doesn't work. Only the icon in the cluster change to red when I drive over a line. But there is no steering movement.
Do i have to update the steering wheel? Is there a module for that?

I don't kno why the old pam is broken. But I'm happy that I could fixed it with a cheap used other pam
