with a claimed range on the motor of 30 or so miles, JLR are suggesting a mpg figure of nigh on 130mpg - using WLTP..

I've not paid much attention to hybrids before, how do they come up with this figure?

I'd imagine that with a full battery , a number in the region of 55mpg wld be nearer the mark....

OK so the P400 is a 6 cylinder MHEV. The P400e is a 4 cylinder PHEV.

Not confusing at all.

Further reading on the WLTP cycle has led me to understand there is an element of engine only driving.

It seems they have a kind of duty rating available too which will tell you how much of the time the battery can power the vehicle vs how much the ICE powers it. A full electric would be 100% and mine would be 0%.

The figures for engine only driving emissions/mpg are blended with the those for electric driving.

no matter how much glitter they sprinkle on it...it's still a turd.

Once I get the call, it's wayyyyy overdue, I can start to plan ...properly.
