Asymetric 2? Any reason you didn't go for the A3s? I had them on the last car - fantastic tyre.


Gators:
They've been discussed on here an other forums.

General consensus was that they'll do the job fine when intact.

What happens after you kerb a wheel is the big unknown.
Most here believe that the gator may fracture under centrifugal force, and shatter - possibly causing damage to paintwork.
None on here that I know of have them fitted for this reason.

I don’t think the A3s were on the website and/or they were more expensive.

I bought the gators but couldn’t fit them due to the A2s having a rim protector as part of the tyre.

I’ve seen the result of gators on an Audi wheel destroying the surface.

Our local dealer fitted them to their loan cars for a time and then stopped using them as they move on the wheel under normal driving, grinding the grit and dirt that has accumulated behind them into the surface of the wheel rim.

They do give some protection from kerbing but expect to do a full refurb on the wheel if they are removed after normal driving.
