according to my information, just SDD.Pretty sure it's only sdd
bricking the ecu appears to not have happened...You haven't said what year your car is, just an X250. On the facelift models, if the battery is disconnected without allowing the electrical systems and modules to fully shut down it is known to cause key, locking & starting issues or even fry the ECU.
the ecu wasn't fried on the map, I assume it went through the obd.Hopefully not, I was just highlighting the issue and reiterating the importance of having someone that knows what they are doing carrying out work on these cars.

They're not a jag specialist so I'm presuming their knowledge is pretty limited to be honest. The reason I ask if there are other softwares that can reset the locking system is so I can say to them, it can only be done with this software and if they don't have the ability to correct it I will take it to the nearest jag specialist and they can foot the bill for it. The car only went there initially because its a friend's garage and around the corner from home, I didn't want to risk driving it to a specialist with the condition it was inhow familiar are they with jags?
are they trying to sort or expect you to do the donkey work.
OK fair comment. They're not a jag specialist so I'm presuming their knowledge is pretty limited to be honest. Yes, dpf is sorted, when they removed the dpf it appears its been replaced before, for a second hand unit by the look of the markings on it, car drives like a dream now though. Just the locking issue to fix and she's sorted. Well, I say sorted, she is due rear discs and pads but that's something I can do myself. I've contacted the most local jag specialist and they're claiming the car will need a new kvm module to fix the locking issue, but upon doing further research myself I'm not sure this is correct as there is relearn function that can be performed via sdd which corrects the issue, from what I understand the only time a new kvm is needed is if the locking issue is present and the car won't startOK fair comment.
is the dpf sorted?
I would trust the Jag specialist....search on here.Yes, dpf is sorted, when they removed the dpf it appears its been replaced before, for a second hand unit by the look of the markings on it, car drives like a dream now though.
