Well, seeing as my Introduce Yourself thread has been done to death, I thought it was about time I started a Gallery thread.

I had some time to fettle with the car today.

First step was to replace the number plate filament bulbs with LED's. I also replaced the bulbs on the vanity mirrors with LED's as one of those wasn't working.

Next step was to sort the exhaust tips out.
Before:

After:

I then refitted the freshly painted SpeedPack Splitters.

And then went into a field of my folks for some out of the way photographs.

I'm smitten now, I can't wait to see it after it's paint correction next week :)

David.

Just had collecting cars on the phone.

They reckon that £16-18k is optimistic - I thought it would be.

They want to do a no reserve sale to gather maximum interest but I said I'm not prepared to do that as there's no way it's leaving here for something like £10k.

They said they'd be happy to meet in the middle and put a reserve of £13k on the car. They feel that with a reserve of £13k, they'd get close to the £16k that I want for it.

If I want to go ahead there are no selling fees. The only cost to me is a photographer to come out and get some proper pictures of the car (they want 150 of them) at a cost of £175.

Gonna have a think about it as if it struggled to gather interest and only made its reserve I'd be mighty pissed off at having to let it go for £13k too. It's due a service, MOT and warranty renewal which is going to cost me £1500. I was going to do them and advertise it for sale but I'm not going to put a warranty on it and risk the reserve being set to £13k at auction.

Just had a look on AT and yikes, I'm sure they were all over £20k a few months ago when I last looked, of course dealer profit is in that. I sure as hell wouldn't be taking £13k though, there's '13 plates going at over £17k (inc. dealer profit presumably).

Will the car be able to squeeze an additional year of warranty after this warranty renewal?

Have you listed it on here yet?

The car can be renewed in 2024 as when the warranty is due it’ll not quite be 10. However, if the next owner takes it over 100k miles it won’t be able to have cover.

I’ve only put a quick advert on the Facebook groups. I’ve not put it on here. Most people in clubs already own the cars they want though, don’t they?

If you're serious about letting it go, the more places you advertise it, the wider the audience who sees it. And no, just because you're a club member, it doesn't mean you have the car you'd desire, imagine a 2.2 diesel XF owner longing for a XFR who happens to have £17k burning a hole, then suddenly spotting yours.

We have plenty of lurkers one of whom might be interested. A known documented forum history could provide a lot of reassurance on a 10 year old car. Putting it in the For Sale section puts it front & centre.

A sad, but understandable decision. Surprisingly small amount of room in the rear of the XFR, especially when someone my size is driving! Good luck with getting the premium it deserves. With a Jaguar warranty thrown in, that is cheap motoring for someone. Good luck finding a V8 RR.

I'm still holding on to mine. She will be 9 years old next month, but only 44K miles on her. An F-Pace SVR is about the only thing that interests me, especially 1988 version :)

I’m 6’4 and my comfortable driving position is with the seat right back. It’s OK for short trips with someone behind you but longer trips aren’t fun.

I’ll be gutted to see it go but I’ve had an amazing 5 years with the car. Time for someone else to enjoy her now :) In a perfect world I’d keep it and use it sparingly but it’s not a sensible thing to do.

Same here at 6'4". If I have a rear seat passenger, I have to move the seat forward, which is not a great solution for any distance driving. Still, I've managed somehow for the last 12 years!!

There's about 99,000 reasons I don't need a Lister Stealth 😂
