Well, seeing as my Introduce Yourself thread has been done to death, I thought it was about time I started a Gallery thread.

I had some time to fettle with the car today.

First step was to replace the number plate filament bulbs with LED's. I also replaced the bulbs on the vanity mirrors with LED's as one of those wasn't working.

Next step was to sort the exhaust tips out.
Before:

After:

I then refitted the freshly painted SpeedPack Splitters.

And then went into a field of my folks for some out of the way photographs.

I'm smitten now, I can't wait to see it after it's paint correction next week :)

David.

I’m now 3 months away from being 5 years into XFR ownership. Hard to believe really!

Whilst the local guy was here safe washing the I-Pace, I got him to do the XFR as time is not on my side at the moment. Needless to say I’m chuffed to bits with the outcome :)

How many miles on it now David?
Ehh… good question… I’m not entirely sure as I keep it on the speedo rather then odometer.

I think it’s sitting between 88 and 89k now. It ticked onto 70k the day I got it so it’s not doing much :)

David.
Looking pretty good for those miles. 👍
Looking fantastic David. Remember your test drive?

Good to see you still have the love for the XF-R.

Any plans on a replacement or are VB 575s still like rocking horse poo?
N.b., I know they are, only one 575 has come up on Autotrader recently and it's in UB, so given your dislike for black, I'd guess the XF-R will be staying firmly in your ownership for a while yet;)

Mrs Rigger has made noises about doing the NC500, so we may get to pop round at some point :D

I do indeed. That was a few months before I finally bought one so must be about 5 years ago now.

How are you enjoying living down south?

Now the little one is here I’ve not been looking at Jags much. Been looking at RR’s primarily. Think I’ve decided I’m going to keep what I’ve got and get the wife a Discovery at the moment.

I’ll have changed my mind again by tomorrow. 😂

Well, the local specialist and I finally managed to agree a date that worked for us both and the XFR has now been in and had a new snout fitted to the supercharger, the supercharger oil has been changed and the coolant pipes underneath the supercharger have been changed also. :)

I dropped it off on Tuesday morning and got it back yesterday afternoon with everything done.

The bill for the supercharger snout was a few quid shy of a grand and with the new brake discs I got under warranty last summer, I've had my moneys worth out of the warranty in the last 12 months. Am just waiting for the renewal notice to land now as it's due in June I believe.

Normally you can only put a warranty on the cars until they're 10 years old, however, my warranty will be due for renewal in June 2024 whereas the car doesn't turn 10 until July 2024 so I'll be able to keep it on cover until it's 11 which is quite nice :)

There's a few jobs I'm going to get done to it myself this summer I hope. I'm planning on removing all of the brake calibers and sending them away to get them powder coated as they're starting to look pretty scruffy now. I want to get it in to the local place that does undersealing and I'd like to get a paint correction and ceramic coating done.

Genuinely can't believe that I've had this car nearly 5 years now either. Haven't done 20k in it yet but it's been here 5 years!

Glad it's all back together for you, what were the pipes like that were removed?

If you don't mind me asking, how much were the pipes to replace?

I cannot believe I've had my car for 1.5 years now, only seems like 5 minutes ago I was asking loads of questions on here and getting ready to travel up to Glasgow to fetch her.
I was so scared of owning this car but its been truly fantastic. My car turns 10 in October 2024 and my warranty renews in December so not quite as lucky as you to squeeze another year out of it.
Will you be running it once the warranty expires or moving it on?

Regards
Glad to know the snout is definitely covered under warranty. I plan to take my car to Wraptor at some point to have it checked over as they said they’d do a quick FOC check for me. I hope it’s all fine but at least I know it won’t cost me anything if it’s not.

I’m in the same position as you David, I’ll be fortunate enough to take my warranty into the 11th year. Can’t believe this thing is 10 years old later this year!

The coolant pipes were around £35 each from memory. If I’m honest I paid the bill for the bits I asked to be done and left without looking.

I normally do all my own maintenance but having 7 cars it can get hectic which is why I’ve always kept this one under warranty. When I can no longer keep the warranty going I’ll likely keep this one.

Well, that is unless I decide to replace the RR and XFR with an SVR. I’m still on the fence about that one. If I get an L405 then I’ll keep the XFR if I get an SVR the XFR will need to go so that I can keep my nuts round. :)

In the 5 years I’ve had mine it’s really needed very little other than routing servicing, tyres and brakes. I got unlucky with the rear diff when I bought it but once that was put right at Stratstones expense this has been the perfect car. However, I’ve only put 18k on it since July 2018.

The snout is an easy one to diagnose as you’ll be able to hear a clunk when you switch the car off.

I’ve never heard a clunk myself but ChrisSB did mention once upon a time he heard the beginnings of it going.

Just had a look as I got curious, 48k of relatively trouble free miles on mine since 2018. Tempted to skip the warranty this year as pretty much everything that can/will break has been replaced but it’s the last “full” one I can get so probably will stick with it.

I just like the piece of mind that you get having the warranty. It is expensive but one decent claim using Jaguar parts pays for it these days.

I used the MOT failure cover on mine last year for a set of discs after it failed on brake imbalance caused by pads transfer.

The discs and my supercharger snout cost 400 quid more then the warranty did for 12 months.

Had mine now for 4 years, other than consumables had a broken wire in boot loom that affected the battery charging. I did get the 2 cooling pipes replaced last December when it was serviced for the newer ones without the seam which can fail. Other than the 6 month warranty that came with the car when purchased haven't bothered with one since. Still on original disks at 45K.
Just remembered also had 1 door lock replaced.

Well, as it happens, 4 years and 11 months to the day after collecting the car from Stratstone in Mayfair, I've filled out the form on the collectingcars.com website to see if they'd be interested in marketing my XFR.

Over the last couple of weeks I've come to the conclusion that I have too many cars (the wife said "Finally" 🙄) and I don't want to be spending my weekends maintaining them all whilst Matthew is growing up. I like to keep my cars pretty much perfect so they all take a lot of fettling. Although, in saying that, the XFR has been the car that's needed the least in the time I've had it. I'll be gutted to see it go but it will be replaced with another 5.0 Supercharged V8. Probably in a Range Rover Sport.

David.
Have you got a number in mind for what you want to get? (for the XFR-S)
What I want to get for the XFR? The prices for everything are all over the place at the moment.

There's pre-facelift cars advertised for £15k with 100k on them which seems nuts. Mine is an unmolested, very late car which is in good condition and is totally original. However, the milage is higher than most at 89k. It does however have full service history and will be sold with a full 12 months Jaguar warranty which costs £1200.

I'd like to think it's worth somewhere between £16-18k but I'd really not be surprised if it didn't make £15k in todays market.

SVR's are £50k so the more the better though! 😂
Oh, sorry I thought it was an XFR-S for some reason, even though XFR is in your sig lol

Lot of car for £18k.
