Hello everybody

Owner of an XF 3.0D S 2010, I find water in the luggage compartment of my car, after dismantlingthe Subwoofer form under le spare wheel location, it turns out that the water is inside the form (no holes, only for the speaker location) , do you have an idea by which way this water is coming inside this part , as there is no access , may be condensation ? sorry for my english I am a frog.
Thanks in advance

So I'm reading this correctly, you have had water in the wheel well in the boot and it's somehow also got inside the subwoofer casing?

Firstly have you rectified the original leak? If it's been submerged in water then it probably will find its way into the subwoofer itself.

Don't be tempted to make any holes in the subwoofer as it will ruin the sound. The only way in will probably be to remove the speaker cone and get as much out as you can and let it dry out in a warm place. Let it come back to outside temperature before reassembling as to prevent condensation forming inside again.

Make no apologies for your English Fred, or for being "a frog"!! :D

Welcome to the forum also!!

Water in the lowest part of the boot is a known problem on the saloon, it normally comes in through the air vents, there are a couple of posts about it, one with good pictures.

I'll try to find it for you.

Hello again,
Thanks a lot for your fast answers.
Congratulations!!!!
It seems the left air vent is responsible of the problem,on this side under the "carpet" ,it is very wet , the carpet surface is dry so I did not suspect this place.
For the water inside the subwoofer form, I suspect that it has been a little bit submerged and the water has gone through the speaker diaphragm ?, ....my first idea was to make few holes ....thanks for your warning, I am going to proceed as you say.
Concerning the correction of the air vent, I need to remove the bumper ..may be ..it’s a complicated thing for me, I will ask a professionnal doing it for me..

Thanks again .....

Glad we could help Alain.

There is a thread telling how to remove the rear bumper somewhere around here too.
