You don't need to disconnect the battery! Just sit in the car, press the "go" button anf follow the instructions on the dash.
You just need to pump the pedal a bit.

Are you suggesting the OP disconnected the battery in a remote location, where they are now stranded?
( it's only been 7 hours since the first post, so I wouldn't write them off yet. )

Don't think he could be THAT remote. He'd just fitted new brake pads.

I understand that that the term "facelift" refers to the X250 XF but I think it should be made clear that issue was addressed in the X260 XF (which I have seen also referred to as the "facelift" XF).
