Doesn’t it take AdBlue?
Almost certainly (although I shan't have the car long enough to need to think about it). But that isn't the answer to the DPF and oil-dilution problem.

For some reason I though AdBlue equipped cars wont need DPF regeneration that often. That was a guess and could not find anything to back it up.

Adblue reduces NOx emissions and has nothing to do with the particulates that the DPF traps.

Quick chat with the tech who's looking at it and he thinks he's identified the BCM Gateway . . . whatever that is. I know BCM is the body control module and "gateway" refers to the battery and power distribution.
Anyway, they are trying to look for a cause before replacing / fixing it.

Let’s hope it’s not because of the headlamps. 😔

Was wondering the same, is the person aware of the wiring modifications made?

All there for them to see. And those headlights have been in and working for over 6 months. Plus, anything to do with the headlights is protected by one or more fuses. No fault there would remotely affect the BCM.

Is the bcm failing because of water ingress like the XF?

Don't think so. But I can't find anything to tell me where it's located.

Reading other forums I believe the BCM isn’t actually a separate module anymore?

It seems to be suggested it’s part of the junction box/fuse boxes

Here is a handy diagram I also saw, which may be of interest.

I hope they get it sorted for you soon John.

Thanks Graham. That's a really useful document.
It was actually described to me as the BMC Gateway. No idea.

No matter what you get as a loaner it's always nice to get back in your own I think.

My Jaguar is the first car where this has been the case every time. Even when I got a brand new GLE350, I still wanted back in my XF.

When I had my 330d I got a new 530d as a courtesy car and didn't want to hand that back! lol
