Thanks for comming back , the noise is only when the car is idle , and when the engine is cold like early in the morning is not a noise comming out , only when the engine gets hot after 10 min usuallyHi, it is known for the heat shield above the exhaust to come loose, maybe your problem. Phil
How many miles has your car done? And has the gearbox/transmission fluid ever been changed?Hello guys just an update my mecanic just told me is the torque converter 😐😐
Hello John , It has done 84000 miles and I dont think someone ever change the fluid .How many miles has your car done? And has the gearbox/transmission fluid ever been changed?
Although Jaguar say the gearbox (which includes the torque converter) is sealed for life, it really isn't and the concensus is that the oil/fluid should be changed at around the mileage yours has done.Hello John , It has done 84000 miles and I dont think someone ever change the fluid .
The torgue converter is failing is broken some metal inside and the noise is very loud, do you think the oil change it will fix it?Although Jaguar say the gearbox (which includes the torque converter) is sealed for life, it really isn't and the concensus is that the oil/fluid should be changed at around the mileage yours has done.
That said, many don't do this and I've never heard of an XF transmission failing. If I were you, I'd get the gearbox oil changed at a good Jag indy or a "ZF" (gearbox manufacturer) service centre and see if that cures it.
No, not if it's that bad.The torgue converter is failing is broken some metal inside and the noise is very loud, do you think the oil change it will fix it?
?You're gonna have to get under it and look. Hopefully it's an exhaust shield. But of course it could well be a cracked flex plate, though I don't think I've heard of that on an XF.
