Mr Jag Assist said he's seen it before. You can plug it in 1000 times with no problem. Then one day, pow! It throws out a random signal and the car's electrics go haywire.
I'd had it plugged in constantly for a couple of days to monitor the dpf load.
I shall continue to use it but won't ever leave it plugged in again.

I used to have that with the ultra gauge plugged in the OBC port but only from initial start up.
Once stopped the shifter moving to reverse

In Martha the OBD II dongle can cause an ABS fault......but that's cos she's old
