I have never had the DPF warning on my MY2012 2.2 diesel. But if I only drive shorter trips from a couple of km to 10 km for a few days, the stop/start systems stops working. The engine simply doesn't turn of, when I stop in traffic. If I go for a long trip, the stop/start system starts working again. And then after a few days of short trips, it stops working.

I have always imagined, it was because, the DPF hadn't been able to regenerate properly. Sometimes I've had to drive very long for the stop/start to work again. Once I drove 100 km and back again after an hour. No change. The next day I drove 300 km, but it still didn't work. Not until I drove another 300 km back home the day after, the system started to work properly. So sometimes it takes a lot of driving. Most of it was on motorway here in Denmark with 110 to 130 km/h. I know the DPF doesn't have to be the reason, but there must be something, the car doesn't like about short trips. I don't think the battery has too low a charge or the engine is too cold. If the system is working, the car doesn't have to warm up more than a few hundred meters, before the system works.

Hello Muenster and welcome - I had issues with my stop/start that I thought certain scenarios would then make it work.........turns out it needed a SW update that was released in April :D

Oh don't forget to vote in the Polls section for relevant engine spec lol
Thank you. I hadn't thought of presenting myself. I have been in another forum very much like this one, so I didn't really notice that I posted in another place. I don't really know, what has been going on, but I can understand, that a lot of users have switched to this forum. I hope you don't mind, if I join you.

Thank you. I haven't had much time to follow the forums recently, even though I enjoy it a lot. I have just bought my XF from the leasing company, so it's now my own car. I'm in Marbella (Spain) on holiday. Not many newer Jags down here, but a lot of other expensive cars. It doesn't look like Jaguars are selling very well.
