This is really good information albeit a few weeks too late for me.The groupon offer is still available:
Oh dear, this sounds ominous. Was it Kwik Fit by any chance?I had a tyre place do a vacuum and recharge on a previous car. They had a trolley system that apparently did it all automatically including measured oil addition. It may have not worked properly as after a few hundred miles the compressor seized and had to be expensively replaced.
I would tend to go to a specialist aircon place now.
The operator has to tell the machine what make and model car it's connected to.I had tracking done at kwik fit and tyre replacement. I had to visit them 3 times until they could get it right. I won’t go there but aircon regas is fully automated machine. I don’t understand how they could do it wrong other than they used contaminated oil from previous car and that ended up in your car. I use formula one for aircon regas and never had issue. I got this ATS voucher but haven’t used it yet due to waiting time.
You'll really notice the difference.Looking promising. This is what came out . .
I think it should hold 700g.
Under vac atm.

Be interesting to find out what the problem was. They don't build them like they used to.Well . . . . drum roll . . . .
No! Not fixed. And to Kwik Fit's credit, I already have the full refund back in my PayPal account.
So, what next? I called Lister's, Droitwich and have it booked it for diagnosis/repair on . . . . 24th August! All down to their techs self-isolating apparently and causing a backlog of work. But it was reassuring to hear the girl on the other end confirm it is under warranty with no prompting from me.
Anyway, it's not a huge issue as it still blasts icy-cold air when moving and it looks as though our summer is all done now.
