I've heard this before but despite persevering I cannot find anything solid to support a design change of the crank (or such) which would prevent the spinning? On the Facebook forums I've asked some of those who proclaim to be Jaguar techs, but they never answer. I really wish I could find a definite answer to put my mind at rest. Not that I'm paranoid or anything....
Just get yourself a nice 5.0 :D

I also think that Jag recommending C1 oil which has a lower HTHS then C3 oil and lower Ash then C2 spec oil doesn't help these engines either. I'm sticking with Texaco Havoline ProDS M 5W-30 which I've always used in PSA diesel cars, my previous C5 2.0 163HP HDI and again in my Jag Xf 2.2 200hp HDI. These PSA engines can take C2/C3 engine oil which offers more protection then C1 engine oil.
