Boot not opening

Hi, a broken wire in the boot loom shouldn't stop the boot opening with the key, I open my boot with the key even if the battery is disconnected so no power is required. Phil

It's possible but you would have to be particularly unlucky for that to happen, I know some of the forum members have got into the boot from the back seat but I'm not sure how. Phil

Yeah the guy said in a disco where a bag got caught in the lock they went in via the back seats, but since the don't fold in the jag he has no idea how, reckons it a forceable job which could break stuff.... :(

Cars in for a service this week so adding this to the job card...luckily there's nothing I needed in there and the shopping didn't go in before the issue happened...

As I understand it all XF's have folding rear seats it's just that the latch mechanism is not installed, but it can be retro fitted very easily. Phil

boot loom boot loom;)
Doesn't stop the boot being opened with the key, I removed my boot loom to repair it and used the key to open before refitting the loom. Phil

And the winner is....

Boot loom. Near side one has caused the latch to seize. On phone to warranty company to replace and do the drivers side air vent as well...
So glad it wasn't the brolly stuck in it after having to take the seats out...labour bill I wouldn't fancy having....
They reckon it's the different side to the camera one though so unfortunately wouldn't fix that issue either....

Hi razza, as far as I am aware there is only one boot loom, well there is on mine anyway, I know I have removed it. Phil
