SDD can reprogram the CJB, Onotole did it to mine when it 'forgot' everything. I then got a new one because a battery disconnect would have rendered it useless gain, as you say to do a 'permanent' fix would require an external programmer.

That makes sense because my one the first the doors wouldn't lock and I run the immobiliser on the service partition of JLR SDD
But this time my engine wouldn't start and the key wasn't recognised
I got the car to recognise keys with JLR SDD but car wouldn't start
That's why my CJB needs reprogamming now or a new one.Im going to try reprogramming first

That can be done with JLR SDD If you go into the service section and run the Immobiliser
But make sure you are atatched to a good power bank to keep you power above 12.5 Volts while programming because there is a big power draw when it running
