Hi All.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have a 2014 2.2D XF. over the weekend it seems to developed a fault. The AirCon says it is on but the fans are not running, even on full. The external temperature reads __o_. If I enable auto open close on the vents nothing happens (normally leave this off).

I have tried, suggestions from related posts, but no joy

1) setting the temp to max
2) setting the temp to min
3) putting the battery on charge just to make sure
4) check Fuse 1 (30A)
5) disconnecting both batteries for 10 mins and reconnecting
6) repeatedly turning the climate control on and off

As you can imaging even driving to the shops with no fans is not much fun at the moment, so any pointers very much appropriated.

thanks in advance

Could be the external air temp sensor is acting up or a wire damaged where it passes from the door to the car (it is in the mirror). Although I have heard when this breaks a crazy temperature is shown - not blank. As mentioned, reading the codes is the best bet.
Have you read up on water and junction boxes? If you don't know what I mean, there is lots of info around on this, but basically water wicked from washer pump into junction box in the footwell and can cause a lot of different electrical issues. Even if it isn't this, it is a problem you need to address before it costs you a lot of money.

Again a code reader is needed, I suspect a failure of the ATC module though considering the whole system isn't working. No good in this weather.

I'd suggest disconnecting the battery longer, but probably just clutching at straws.

Agree on checking codes, but have you checked battery is fully charged also, if it's low the BMS may not be allowing power through to it until battery up to scratch.

I think the ATC isn't in the BMS's remit to turn off. Bit pointless if you can't see where you're going/safety...
