It’s an R-Sport. Badge on the power vent :)

Ah, couldn't quite make that out in the pic, though I was being frivolous tbh..

Maybe the 'S' is for 'silly'.. or worse... ;)

It’s just the difference between XF and XJ badging. It likely has the 300PS Diesel engine found in the XFS but they didn’t make a XJS to my knowledge (probably due to confusing it between XJ-S). There was a Supersport but that was a 5.0V8 I think.

Ah maybe that’s what the S stands for.

Yes, the Supersport was a 5.0 V8 Supercharged. I got to drive one round Thruxton. Very refined, fast motor, not as aggressive as the XFR on track (drove them back to back). About £100,000 on the pricelist back then (2012).

The handling on them was very surprising too,

Loved throwing it round the bend at Hammerhead, Dunsfold Park - Jeez, 7 years ago now!

Wish Jag would do more events like that in the UK. Was good fun.

Super, maybe?...

They also look like knock off versions rather than genuine ones don't they?..
They look OEM to me. OEM XF, XE or F-Type that is.
Every single knock off S badge I have ever seen on Fleabay, Aliexpress etc has the green part way too dark, the same shade of green as on the old "square" R badge.
The genuine S badge has a very bright green and these look correct to me.

Here’s one I spotted earlier and really threw me.

Forgive the dirty lens in the second pic
