ABS DSC and EBD fault

7465 Views 13 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  OBC John
This came on last week when driving in the wet and has been on ever since. Comes on with ignition even without starting the engine. I 'pinned out' all the sensors and replaced front left speed sensor. All now read 700ohms or thereabouts. Faults still active. Before I book in for a fault scan and get bent over the table, is there anything to check or any known issues?

The fault may just need clearing.

Just one of the cheap code clearers will do.
Normal code readers won't read ABS faults and therefore won't clear them. I've tired mine and it didn't work
Have you rechecked the speed sensors? The conductor can break down within the insulation causing an intermittent fault.
Checked them all on Friday and they all read about 700 ohms. No change to faults. Wondering if there is a known issue with XFs.
Have you tried disconnecting your battery, to reset everything?
Anybody close to you who has a mongoose to check and clear fault codes?
Check the pads sensors. It happened to me the same after a bad sensor installation. It was intermittent at the start and after 2-3 weeks it got permanent. The cable was bad.
I tried disconnecting battery. pad sensor circuits are good. Member with Mongoose would be welcome to plug in and test. I worknear derby during the day and live near Mansfield. Tia
To close this off. Got a Mongoose and at first it identified a problem with the brake switch. I removed it and tested it ok. Then it identified no power to the ABS unit. Tested with multimeter and confirmed no power. Turned out to be a burnt out wire about 4 inches from the ABS module main connector. I joined the wires with a link wire and now works fine. Happy days.

Glad you got sorted
Very good diagnostics, well done.

Do you have a picture? I'm having the same issue
