It’s a bit like the joke with Michael O’Leary (Ryanair) in a pub being charged for glass, table, chair etc.

Indeed, however, I suppose at least I have an actual diagnosis to show for it on top of just plugging it in.

And ultimately it looks to have actually resolved the problem too, which I didn't ask for, solely the diagnosis. When I spoke to them about resetting the ICS they said it was no problem but woukd coat £114 (looks like 1 hour labour charge Inc VAT)

So, I'll take this as a win

Spent about an hour on the car today, when I procure a car the seats normally come out early on, but they've never been out on this one in my ownership.

I thought about taking them out, then thought about how heavy they likely are, so unbolt them and tilted them:

As you can see, plenty of filth under there, which was obviously removed!

I then thought may as well finally change the seat buttons for the chrome XJ ones I picked up. So undone the 2 screws holding the whole outer piece:

Here is the inside of the piece with the screw holes highlighted by tools, also the 2 green clips that hold it in place:

Then you release the large plug, give it a good tug and it comes off, I didn't take pictures of the change process as the dismantling pictures I took previously cover all of that.

But here it is after the buttons are swapped:

And fitted to the car:

Subtle but more suited to the car.

Winter took its toll inside the car:

Quick scrub:

Out with the leather cleaner:

And it scrubbed in well, they weren't too dirty but worthwhile:

I went to change the DPS valve as there was no leak, or so I was led to believe when it was gassed...

Alas, when the refrigerant was being evacuated a leak was apparent as practicaly nothing left the system! Had a quick look but couldn't find anything. Struggling to find a reputable garage in terms of dealing with air con systems and cannot find a mobile specialist near me surprisingly!

Want to get that sorted very soon though due to the upcoming season change...

Thanks for the update Jordan, lots of useful info here. Makes me feel guilty to have a trouble free XFR that hasn't had any issues from new :( Need to do the washer pump mod to prevent CJB damage.

Theyre the permanent ones since I got them [emoji1787] used to work where there was a dusty car park and have never felt the need to replace in the summer
I used to be the same chances of diesel in the yard.

Bulk ordered 20l of oil and 3 oil filters to average the cost of an oil service to £64... I also ordered 2 Air filters and a pollen filter ahead of doing its annual normal service.

I also ordered an air con leak tester, will give it a go, managed to get it very cheap so won't cry if it doesn't work out, also handy to have for future use.

Which oil did you go for and where from?
