2010 xf 3.0d engine wont start

Have you tried the calibration procedure? You might have several faults, and one of them being a faulty brake switch, so you might need to push quite a bit harder than normal on the brake pedal. Also it should auto disengage when d is selected and you lightly press the accelerator pedal.
 
With the water spillage, have you "goosed" the EPB Module, which sits off side behind the rear seats?
I was thinking this too, given it can't be reset and it should auto release when in d and trying to drive too.
 
You can release the EPB manually. Can't recall if it's the same routine as they parking pawl on different hidden place. Someone on here will know.

Haven't heard you can EPB manually as its on Bowden cables.

Car starting lovely but EPB still locked on Does anyone know if I was to get hold of another EPB module would this have to be programmed for my car or can I just swap it over.
Can't think that's been asked before mate, but if I had to take an educated guess I'd say it doesn't need programmed as it probably won't be part of the can bus.
