Hi everyone, thanks for letting me join.

I bought my first Jag in January. I say first as it definitely won't be my last. It's a 2011 XF Luxury edition, and it's the best car I've ever had, (and I've had MANY cars!)

In spite of it's age it has relatively low mileage, and still looks and drives like new.

I have joined this forum in the hope of getting some information on how to get the best out of the car, and to understand how things work. For example, how to play music from my phone (Android) through the car's hi fi.

I'm looking forward to trawling though the many threads to find stuff out, and maybe even share some information of my own if possible!

Cheers! Alun

Might be best if you get a moderator to change your username to something that's not your email address...

Welcome sir.
Firstly it's spelt Alan....

you're very welcome.

The problem with the older tech is it's just that.
I can't remember if I managed to use my phone for toons on my first XF.
I did certainly use a usb stick, loaded some CDs into the memory...and possibly MP3s.

Enjoy the motor....photos pls.

Unless its Allan or Allen.

Welcome Alun,

plenty of helpful folks here. Some (cough) banter too.

Best way to play music in your car, if you have USB in the centre cubby - then do that. Easy to add delete files as you please.

Pictures of your new pride and joy are always welcome.

Welcome to the forum Alun. Like mentioned, I have all my music on a USB stick in the cubby. I have one that is nearly flush, so not damaged easily. Easily accessible via My Music from the head unit.

Welcome Alun.

I did 120,000 miles in my last XFS & it looked, drove, handled, rode & performed exactly as it did when I collected it 4 years earlier.

The current BMW isn't wearing the miles nearly as well.
