    Hi Simon,

More details are needed to understand the age and what servicing has been completed to date.

Generally the Service schedule on the XF is every year or 16k miles (whichever is the sooner) the servicing is then broken into a major and minor service, minor at year one then major at year two, reverting back to a minor at year three etc.

The brake fluid is replaced on a three year basis.

The handbook will give you details on the timing for additional servicing consumables (spark plugs, air filters, pollen filters, seat filters, fuel filter etc)

48 months/60k B service or 60months/75k A service per my 5.0 engine sheet (3.0D and 2.2D at 16k/12 months) with new air cleaner elements at 60k. B service has pollen filter and climate seat cushion motor filters (?) and battery electrolyte level check over A service. Agree need to check what service they did last time.

No such thing, as Ancill has said it's either yearly or every 15k miles whichever is first.
Are you saying you only have it serviced every 15k miles?

Surely a 60k miles service is the same as a 4 year service then?

Nope not if you only do 10,000 miles a year then you would be on your 6th service not 4th.

Yeah I get that. But he hasn't said how old the car is. So you can't really say a 60k service doesn't exist.

The chances of a car being driven off a forecourt and then for the next 4 years doing around 15,000 miles per year are slim.

That's not what I said though is it? Why can't it be 4 years old and done 60k? Unless I'm getting the complete wrong end of the stick.

I'd assumed it was a 2009 XFR that he owned for about 16 months....... so would assume the 60k or 4 year may have passed unless its had a service on the mileage points every 15 months or so

    lol, thanks guys.....

Car is a 2009, so 5 years old, its done 61,000 miles and I have done 24,000 miles in it in the last 18 months, last serviced about 12,000 miles ago so thought I would get it done, just wondered what it entailed as I usually service cars myself and looking at how (relatively) cheap the servicing was at specialists I thought there couldn't be much to it, and looking at richmonds reply there really isnt!

    Thanks again

    Simon

Just to confirm on this one..

My XFR is Sept 2010 and the last service was done by Peter Vardy Jaguar on 11/05/2015 (33000 miles) and it was Service A / Oil Change.

Does that mean my next one will be Service B with a brake fluid change (3 years since last). Im on 45k now.

Jaguar told me it was a service A but that doesn't tie up with the above schedule so just checking.

Charles Hurst Jaguar Belfast say I need a Major Service and have quoted me £381 all in. I thought that was really good value considering they are the only Jaguar dealer over here.

The service schedule is calendar/mileage based such that the schedule is as
    Year 1/15,000 miles A Service
    Year 2/30,000 miles B Service
    Year 3/45,000 miles A Service
    Year 4/60,000 miles B Service
    Year 5/75,000 miles A Service
    Year 6/90,000 miles B Service
The schedule is based on whichever comes first, calendar or mileage

Your vehicle is six years old so should expect a B service to be performed regardless of the low mileage. However, if say brake fluid was done out of sequence for instance, you could negotiate to get that dropped from the servicing
