I am somewhat envious of your XFRs though. I was just about to do a deal on the discounted end of line offerings where the offer was unrefusable (half list price for me) but the Mrs decided the roof needed converting and all the saved up cash suddenly disappeared. I know I am going to regret this for a long long time (or until that Giulia Cloverleaf is sitting on the driveway).

    VED is another topic entirely...
My sister kept bragging how her Focus might be a poxy little car with no power, but she only pays £35 per year VED.
...until I pointed out that her car will cost the same as my phenomenal and powerful Jag after April this year (£140).

VED changes from April this year. Pretty much every car except new ones over £40K or electric will pay £140 per year.
I was about to buy 12 months VED, when I found out, so went for 6 months as it reduces after April.

but that's only for new cars registered after april 2017.
Pre April 2017 VED stays the same.
    I pay £30

    Of course. My Mistake.
I misread an article that insinuated that all cars would be £140.

Reminds me of my first divorce.

She got the house, I got the mortgage.
XF replaced by a big tractor due to intransigence of Jaguar marketing. When I wanted to order, a V6 engine and a Portfolio interior was mutually exclusive if you lived in the UK, but not elsewhere.

Oh yes, she shared many things with me, mostly the blame.

    Why am I not surprised?

I can honestly say that I did not have "carnal knowledge" of another female until wife #1 had left the building. (Although to be fair it was very quickly after that, lol)

    Well, well...

Perhaps those in the business and those moving with the times could be onto something after all

Was reading a piece from the CEO of Dixons Carphone last week - saying that we will stop buying individual bits of AV kit, 'phones/TVs/Hifi etc., and instead pay a monthly "rental" to lease the latest models - covering the devices, their repair and replacement, but more importantly the means of getting content to them, and in some cases the content as well.

I could see car manufacturers going a similar way - you never own a car, you pay a monthly fee to be able to "call up" an autonomous vehicle when you want it, and differing base fees dependant upon what range/size/prestige level of vehicles you need for short term usage.

Knowing my luck, the car I book will have carried an incontinent Shih tzu on its previous journey..............
