\r\n Warranty issues re. Fuel tank slap\r\n

\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n \r\n
\r\n
\r\n
\r\n Hi all,
\r\n
\r\nI took advantage of jag\'s two year approved warranty when I bought my 2012 XFS at the end of March, had a few issues and a lot of hassle with the dealer after handover but that\'s being dealt with by CRC.
\r\n
\r\nHowever had a couple of warranty issues and was advised to go to my local dealer, two of the issues were sorted but the third is fuel tank slap,
\r\n
\r\nMy question is should this be covered under their two year warranty? I\'ve been told that my extended warranty doesn\'t cover it, but my warranty isn\'t extended its a used approved warranty. Also Was there ever a recall on this or was it just fixed under warranty?
\r\n
\r\nAny advice would be good.
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThanks Nick\r\n

\r\n My understanding which may be wrong is the original warranty covers faults arising in the first three years and not faults reported in the first three years. There is a big difference
    \n
\nThe tank slap is a fault from the factory, i.e. arising in the first three years so if I am right it is covered.
    \n
\nPlease can anyone confirm if my understanding (arising vs reporting) is correct?\r\n

Same for me, plus it never stays more than 3/4 full for long anyway [emoji57].

\r\n Update: jaguar CRC have confirmed they will sort the fuel tank slap out under warranty or as they call it a good will gesture. Can someone tell me what\'s involved in fixing this issue so that I know I\'m not being fobbed off by the dealer.
    \n
    \nThanks in advance\r\n

\r\n Lets be honest, slapping a piece of foam in a fuel tank is a fudge to disguise a design/build fault
    \n
\nThe repair should be a fuel tank that doesn\'t exhibit the fault from day one end of, especially seeing the price of a new vehicle in the first place\r\n

Fuel is always going to slap around in a tank that holds more than is it in it, baffles need to be designed in to prevent excessive movement under acceleration/braking.
    \n
\nFor instance does your Bavarian wench exhibit slap? Probably, but the internals of the tank prevent you from noticing it in the passenger compartment\r\n

Jag made a cost reduction. It didn\'t work. They fixed it. BMW have bigger issues with their engines and cheap interiors.\r\n

\r\n I had the "fix" done a few months ago, it initally 90% worked but now only has a marginal effect to the slap noise. I\'ll be taking my rear bench out this weekend (hopefully) and stuffing carpet underlay, or similar, between the bench and tank if space allows.
    \n
\nIf you get the fix done, when you fill up, check underneath the car for any diesel dripping down. I didn\'t and my driveway was damaged the first night I got the car back.\r\n

\r\n I\'m curious... did the tank slap affect the petrol cars as well? Never seem to hear of them needing to be fixed.\r\n

Warranty issues re. Fuel tank slap

      Hi all,

I took advantage of jag's two year approved warranty when I bought my 2012 XFS at the end of March, had a few issues and a lot of hassle with the dealer after handover but that's being dealt with by CRC.

However had a couple of warranty issues and was advised to go to my local dealer, two of the issues were sorted but the third is fuel tank slap,

My question is should this be covered under their two year warranty? I've been told that my extended warranty doesn't cover it, but my warranty isn't extended its a used approved warranty. Also Was there ever a recall on this or was it just fixed under warranty?

      Any advice would be good.

      Thanks Nick
