    Splash Guards!

Had a quick trawl, but couldn't find any dedicated threads, so here goes...

Jack relevant side and remove wheel

    1. Starting with rear - remove x3 small bolts (1 underneath):

    2. Offer up rear splash guard, remove sticky backing and use x3 phillips screws (provided):

    2013-03-27-347.jpg

    Finished rear (simples):

    3. Next, fronts - remove x2 plastic philips screws & holders:

    4. Pull plastic (cover) forwards and offer up x2 clips (provided) to old holes:

    5. Offer up front splash guard, remove sticky backing and use x2 (small) bolts (provided), then drill small hole (~2mm) through 2 plastic layers:
!Be careful the clips don't drop out of place!

    6. Use x1 philips screw (provided):
    !Do not over-tighten!

Thanks for that ... I've been giving them some thought.

What's the best price for both sets?

Hopefully they will do the job and protect the rear and front lower wheel arches, etc...

Funny, I've had mine on from new, and think any XF without them looks somehow "bare".
XF replaced by a big tractor due to intransigence of Jaguar marketing. When I wanted to order, a V6 engine and a Portfolio interior was mutually exclusive if you lived in the UK, but not elsewhere.

    Old lives matter!

If you drive it hard enough, you can ground them.

    Apparently.

Never managed it with my XF, but that was because the suspension had zero travel They would occasionally catch on road humps though....on account of some of the ones around my way appear to be illegal in their construction.

I'm worried about wearing mine out, there are some serious depressions on my B road journey home.

I was wondering what to do with the original springs and shocks that Spires took off...would you like to firm yours up a bit?

What a kind offer, but I will let someone else benefit from it.

I can only admire your selfless restraint

On a more serious note, how does one get rid of such things? Take them to the metal section at the local tip I guess....seems such a waste.
