Preparing for another one mod - NAV with HDD

While the main unit of new mod somewhere in pathways, today decide make a little change of roof fin.

For transformation was taken the Evoque's roof antenna with GPS/DAB, part number LR059750.

As I like my roof fin, decide to transport GPS/DAB board from the donor.

for this procedure was used torx #9, after the roof fin placed to its place, but now the GPS antenna wiring plugged

The DAB for UK cars is from the rear screen not the fin as we found out when trying to retrofit an antenna for dab reception on my last car. The fin dab connection is for the continent as there is a different band used.

What's the fin look like from the external view?

During first part of next week should come one wiring that I forgot to order earlier, so while waiting last (I hope) element, I'll open the unit and try to make clone of existing HDD.
    So keep tuned

All standard Philips screws is interesting. No torx or anti-tamper to make like difficult for the casual tinkerer. We all know you are not a casual tinkerer

So it's a Western Digital it seems. What's the physical interface? SATA?

Please replace with an SSD and see if the performance improves. If it does then that's a mod I'd be interested in.

I doubt the data call speed would justify the upgrade to SSD

What do you think the interface protocol is exactly? Lag on the UI is unacceptable to me in an 80K+ car.
