Hi everyone!
Today there was made the upgrade from Jaguar Sound System to Meridian Surround Sound System :)
first of all there was made some changes in CCF file - the system thought that the MSSS was already installed, even was menu with "subwoofer".
Next step was installation of rear parcel shelf with surround speakers (the photo of parcel is shows in my thread about parcel shelf
Yesterday got parcel shelf with sun blind and surround speakers. The shelf was installed in a 30 minutes :) a few photos as usual: View attachment 37298 View attachment 37306 View attachment 37314
)
Today I got the front surround speaker C2Z 22817, sub C2Z 15665 and amp С2D 30272.
After all these items were plugged the menu with "DTS", "DOLBY" and "Meridian"alived - so I'm happy.
A few photos 'll post soon

Very interesting. Could it be done to a pre facelift. Spoke to a specialist audio shop in the Midlands yesterday, someone had bought a facelift xf but not the upgraded audio so they upgraded for him. New amp, replace speakers and subwoofer in boot and rear parcel speakers. No change out of £2000:eek: Would like the rear parcel speakers and a bit more oomph.

Subwoofer and front surround speaker new ones, amp was found in eBay, parcel shelf with surround speakers in Poland. The modification of CCF file and amp reprogramming was made myself via SDD.
All dealers sing same song "its impossible" :(

All the connections are supposed to be different and wiring is fibre optic but not with jaguar system

You can check in TOPIx wiring diagrams of sound systems, but if you have Jaguar Sound system on ore-face lift - then you should make some wiring and change Head Unit, 'cause on models before 2011MY, there was the different sound architecture that on facelift ones.

That's my thinking. Swop is more complex on preface lift if not impossible.

Very impressed to say the least will have to do some research.thanks for posting. May have to pick your brains again.

Wow, another great upgrad!

You never stop

Just curious, do you have any idea of how much did you "increased the value" of your XF?

This is great news. The options on a new car to upgrade the stereo are stupid money. If more people start being able to retro-fit it'll have to bring the price down. Most of the wiring is generally there as it's too expensive to create several different looms.

All I got from dealers was the old Perry Como Classic! It's imposible ( one for the old ones) think the audio upgrade may be only possible on facelift. Connections on amp are different but surely someone has upgraded. If you can change the front end of a classic to a facelift, the audio surely is possible.

by the way - the loom for it was made in a few minutes, it was connected to connector C23-A:

its locates on left side:

for connecting front speaker must be use pin 12 and pin 13

and stealthly packing the wiring

The main problem for me now is the grill is does not approach if speaker installed, so for temporary cut a few plastic on it :)

'll order the "Meridian" Center Speaker Grill

Don't think the "acoustic glass" has anything to do with the ICE, isn't it to stop external noises getting through? Never did quite "get" that, tbh.

So the strategy is to reduce the loom, but add a huge amount of control modules, I was amazed at how many modules there are in just the drivers door!

Even with standard speakers in doors (please note that the tweeters in doors are the same in all systems!!!) wich will be replace in future and with installed surround speakers with subwoofer and Meridian amp this mod worth every spent penny!
As for me it sounds awesome
